Tailor-Made Travel

Private & custom Sweden tours, designed around you.

Sweden is understated elegance — Stockholm scattered across fourteen islands with water and light at every turn, the Vasa Museum's 17th-century warship, raised almost intact from the harbour floor, and Dalarna's red wooden villages and handpainted horses still made the old way. Push north and Swedish Lapland becomes pure wilderness.

Every Black Deer Travel Sweden tour is private and fully custom. From Stockholm's archipelago and Drottningholm Palace to the glass igloos and dog sledding of Swedish Lapland and the Icehotel at Jukkasjärvi, we build it around you — with private guides in the cities, private drivers on country roads, and local experts who know which Stockholm islands reward slow exploration and which Lapland routes offer the clearest aurora skies. The best time to visit Sweden is May to September for Stockholm and Dalarna, or November to March for the Icehotel and Northern Lights at Aurora Sky Station in Abisko. We secure bookings months ahead for the Icehotel's ice suites and arrange every guide and experience around your timeline.

Good to Know

Sweden tours — your questions answered

What is the best time to visit Sweden?

May through September for Stockholm, Dalarna, and the midnight sun in the north. July is warmest. November through February is best for the Icehotel experience and Northern Lights at Abisko's Aurora Sky Station.

How many days do you need in Sweden?

Four days covers Stockholm and an island day trip. Seven days adds Dalarna or Gothenburg. Ten to twelve days lets you pair Stockholm with Swedish Lapland and the Icehotel experience without rushing.

What is special about the Icehotel?

The Icehotel at Jukkasjärvi is carved from Torne River ice. Its winter section is rebuilt by artists every year, and Icehotel 365 keeps ice suites open all year round — you sleep in an artist-designed ice suite at −5°C (23°F) under thermal blankets. It's a bucket-list experience, but the rooms are genuinely cold and not for everyone.

How do you get around on a Sweden tour?

Stockholm is walkable and has excellent public transport and ferries. We use private drivers for Dalarna and Swedish Lapland, and arrange domestic flights between Stockholm and Kiruna if time is limited. Trains connect major cities reliably.
